We are excited to announce that the applications for executive board positions for the 2018-2019 school year are now open! Holding an executive board position (or serving as a committee member) can earn you three points per semester. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Co-Presidents at maryland.ald.pes@gmail.com or reach out to individual VPs if you have position-specific questions (all of their emails can be found on our website. New Member Scholarships

If you are being inducted into ALD & PES in Spring 2019, then you are eligible for new member scholarships! Information on how to apply is available here.

About our Scholarships:
Scholarships are an integral part of ALD & PES. Besides sending on applicants to compete with other ALD and PES members nationwide, we award many local chapter scholarships based on these applications. A minimum of $10,000 in scholarships are awarded locally each year. This past year, $13,500 was awarded in local scholarships.

T-Shirt Design Contest

Do you think you’re creative? Show off your designing skills by helping us design a shirt for our Honor Society. Go into the “Design Lab” of custom ink’s website and design a shirt with our honor society’s name in it. Screenshot it and send it to us! All submissions will receive a point. The winner will get a point and FREE SHIRT! Submit your designs here.
(You can submit more than one design to increase your chances of winning, but you will only receive one point max).

Terp Thon

Terp Thon is an organization that raises money For The Kids at Children’s National in D.C and celebrates with an annual 12 hour dance marathon, which is happening this Saturday! You can register as a dancer on our team at the link above. Be sure to email us a picture of yourself at the event for a point!

Freedom School

Volunteer with Kennedy Street Freedom School, an organization that provides an outlet for children to learn and have fun after school. Freedom School is an after-school enrichment program, that utilizes cheers and chants to create a positive environment for students to learn.Volunteers will participate in the different cheers and chants. Also, Freedom School separates the children into 3 levels: level 1, 2 and 3; so based on your assigned level, you will assist with whatever activity the children are doing. Ex. (reading with them, checking their work, etc.).

Last day to sign up is March 7th, 2019. We usually meet in stamp near Hoff Theater at 4:45PM, but more information will be sent out on the day of.

SHARE Sorting Session

Volunteer with SHARE (Supporting Hospitals Abroad with Resources and Equipment), an on-campus organization which donates medical supplies from hospitals in the US to underprivileged medical facilities abroad! Volunteers will help sort and organize new and unused medical supplies before helping package them in boxes.
